Decorating

Getting ready for Christmas around here! It's our first time decorating together and we had fun. First, we bought some shelves for our bare wall. They took a while to get put up, but they look great! Then, it was time to get out what little seasonal decorations we have. Also, I had to buy a few things :)  I was craving cupcakes yesterday....  Little Santa tree for the side table   New shelves and stockings! Nesting Christmas trees and a cute vintage looking snowman decoration! Annual picture with the 1988 mittens! Finished! With our new quilted tree skirt from Target! We had to settle for a artificial tree this year because I wanted to decorate early and we are heading to Vegas in 2 weeks. And, I don't want a live tree to die while we are gone. It's a little wonky, but thanks to Nathan's grandma for letting us use it!! Nathan said I did a good job decorating the tree. I guess it's because he wants me to do it every year! -*Miss Emma*

Secrets

Secrets can be fun, but they can also hurt someone (what we tell the kids at CAS). Sometimes secrets are ok, like the one I'm keeping! This season seems to be full of secrets....presents! Unfortunately, I am getting old and my Christmas presents aren't secrets because I often pick them out myself. At least my mom and dad try to get Michael and I some surprises. Thanksgiving- Tomorrow is the day. As someone with a "nervous stomach," (aka constant stomachache) I don't particularly enjoy this holiday much. The food is always good and I love getting to see my family, there is just something missing. Presents, I think. Just kidding. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! I am a bad secret keeper. I feel myself cracking already!! Anyone else having a GF/partly GF Thanksgiving? -*Miss Emma*

It's that time of year.....

L and I were walking around Old Worthington this week and saw city workers decorating the town Christmas tree. It's hard to believe that it really is almost December. I love Worthington this time of year. My favorite part is driving down High Street lined with lit trees. It's a Winter Wonderland! I wonder what Grandview does. -*Miss Emma*

Baby Pants

I finished my first batch of baby pants! 2 other pairs (boy prints) need some repairing! -*Miss Emma*

French Onion Bread Soup

Last weekend I made French Onion Bread soup from a recipe that I had torn out of a magazine a long time ago. It was awesome! I don't think I had tried french onion soup before, but now I'm hooked. I'll probably make it again this weekend. The recipe calls for Gruyere cheese and I was a little skeptical to try a new cheese, but it tastes so good! I tried to find the recipe online to have a link for you, but no such luck. Sorry! Yes, that is vintage Fire King bowl that I baked it in! -*Miss Emma*

Working

I'm currently in the process of making lots of baby pants. I still haven't decided what I am going to do with them. I'm thinking of taking the completed ones to Fritzy Jacobs in Worthington to see if they will sell them. If not, I may just use Facebook to sell them. I don't think I want to take special orders, because with orders come deadlines. I like to work at my own pace! And, if I get bored of them I can just stop. I'm sure all of the little ones in my life will be getting pants for Christmas! Speaking of Christmas, what should I make for everyone this year?! Should I make everyone the same thing like I did last year. Most of the bloggers I follow already have growing Christmas piles. I need to get a move on, I think. Also, I need to decide if I am going to make a cat to enter in the Sew to Speak contest this year. I think I want to make a little Sadie :) Back to work! (I already wasted 2 hours crying my eyes out while watching "Dear John") -*Miss Emm
